2023 ELECTIONS AND THE LESSONS FROM IT.
... Of Baby Politicians and Political Juggernauts.
With most major political parties losing their grips on their hitherto strongholds, new entrants into the political scene and major upsets occurring throughout the country during the 2023 presidential and gubernatorial elections.
The just concluded elections has really shown the fault lines and the major divisions that has hitherto been held at bay all these while, we have seen people calling for the head of their former friends all because they support a different candidate, this is inclusive of those who are calling for protest against a democratically elected candidate but asking their followers to spare a particular region.
Those bullied the most in this election have been majorly the APC members, either from the southeast where a lot of their members have been killed some merely for celebrating the win of current president - elect to the south west where a gubernatorial aspirant is calling for a state to catch fire because he realised he wasn't going to win the election.
My perspective is that a lot of healing has to happen for us to move past this division caused mainly by the new generation just entering into politics. they need to be taught that building bridges and respecting their hosts is more important than hurling insults and abuses at others for their personal decisions.
